Wonderful Time at the Baltimore Book Festival 2011

Though the first day, Friday was a down pour and I felt as if I would never get dry and warm again, the event was wonderful!

Maryland Romance Writers did a terrific job this year with having interesting and exciting events going on every hour of the three day festival.  Book readings, raffles, panels on romance writing, steampunk, erotica, chocolates, Jane Austen, Victorian tea, healthy writing and everything else in between.  I think there was a little something for everyone.  Great job to all my friends and fellow writers who were there and the dedication they showed to bring about a fantastic weekend.

I even had the chance to be on a panel along with Christi Barth, Eliza Knight and Amy Villalba about "How to Become a Romance Writer".  A great big thank you to our fearless leader, Sharon Buchbinder for helping us out in a pinch too.  I also had the honor of doing a reading and raffle with Christi Barth, Eliza Knight and Rebecca York.  I read from my latest finish project--Wanted: One Ghost (check out my latest excerpt) which I hope people enjoyed and raffled off my basket themed on the story line with local ghost stories, teas, milled corn meal from Wye's Mill (one of the oldest mills still in production in Maryland) and a special chatelaine I had made for the occasion.

All in all it was a great time!

Third Week--Healthy Writing

Let's get going!!!  Okay, I am so motivated today!  I am happy to report in the past three weeks I have lost 5 pounds (approx. 1 1/2 pounds a week which Weight Watchers approves of).  I've gone from my size 14 pants back down to a 12 comfortably--which a month ago I couldn't get the flaps to meet to button).  My goal is back down to 10's at least.  I don't think I was ever an 8--can't remember but I'd be happy at a 10.

The power walking at 5:45 a.m. is really motivating for me.  It gets my blood pumping!  Now I just need to motivate my writing.  Last week was really difficult for word numbers.  I did work on writing but more of critiquing and revising.  So again, finding the balance on that is difficult.  Plus life got in the way a bit more than I expected.  Hoping this week is a slower pace while getting my daughter ready for her Junior year of high school next week.  (Back on schedule a bit.)

I love hearing from you all so post your comments when you can!

Hugs and best writing!!

Second Week of Healthy Writing Begins!

Wow!  So many things in the 'writing fire' that keeping on track this week is going to be a challenge in itself!

Many of my wonderful groups and friends who write are focusing on great endeavors to boost their Work In Progress (WIP).  Everything from 1K1H's, #amwriting on Twitter, and even a Fast Draft challenge is going on!  There is no shortage of ideas for getting the motivation to write.  I also have two critique groups and a chapter meeting this week to keep me even busier with my writing motivation.

Plus I am in the need of revising and resubmitting my story, Wanted: One Ghost for an interested editor in which I am really excited about.

So, if for some reason I am not blogging my usual posts--please bear with me.  I think this week I will only blog 3 times here on my blog site for Healthy Writing.  Don't let this distract you from your goals and working towards self-motivation.

Remember to take time to exercise, eat properly and  spend time with loved ones.  (In other words, don't forget about the real world outside of our characters.) :)  And know that I am there with you in spirit, hope and love.

All the best to you!

Day 5 of Healthy Writing--Sorry about Day 4 (Lost it somewhere)

Yeah, yesterday was a wash for me.  My brain fried halfway between trying to figure out revisions and seeing my house suffering from again--too much BICHOK (Butt In Chair, Hands On Keyboard).  I have been getting my morning exercising in but when afternoon rolls around I have been emersed in writing or brain storming.  It was sad when my daughter came down the other night and said, "Hello Mom--good to see you too.  Good night." I looked at the clock to see it was 11:30pm. (and yes, I'd forgotten to eat dinner. Thank God my daughters are self-sufficient!)

On that note, I've had a few of you ask about the weekend and if we are keeping track.  That is totally up to you on an individual level.  Personally I treat my writing as a 5 day a week job--with some weekend activity due to critique meetings, etc. but I try to keep my weekends for strictly for family.  So you should too!  :)

Take care!

Day Three of "Healthy Writing"--Hey, I'm Still Here!

Arrrrgggghhh!  I'm being attacked by sticky notes!  My desk is littered with vibrant, florescent pink sticky notes and I had to get away this morning before they feasted on my face.  Tried to post while I was sitting at a favorite coffee spot a few blocks away but the wi-fi was giving me issues so sorry for the delay.

Some of you have contacted me with ideas of needing to edit as we write for the 1K1H times.  I understand.  I too am facing a revamp of my goals and editing so if anyone has ideas post your comments here to share.  I was thinking maybe doing pages of edits one of the hours at least but that was just an idea.  Remember, this is your pace--everything I'm doing is just suggestions and ideas.

I will post my brag today--I've lost two pounds since I started my goals/pre-goals last week and have gotten three chapters more (eight in all so far) for my latest book.  For me, that's pretty good.

I'm hearing great things from you all in emails so share what you can (or want) with others here too.  The more the merrier.

As we say in the Navy for a job well done--Bravo Zulu to you all!

Day Two of "Healthy Writing"--Going Strong!

Sorry I am a bit behind today in posting.  Most of you are in the writing mode already as my clock reads: 12:08pm (EST) and I know we are scheduled to do our first 1K1H at this point.  I've had an exciting morning!  But I will not dwell on it just yet,  too much work to be done.

We will be having scheduled times for 1K1H throught the day and I will try and keep this schedule for most of our days (unless there is an issue and these times do not work for majority of us in the long run).  I have scheduled for today:

1st 1K1H for 12:00-1:00pm
2nd 1K1H for 3:00-4:00pm
3rd 1K1H for 7:30pm-8:30pm
4th 1K1H for 9:00pm-10:00pm
These times are all (EST).

Just a word--please, if these times don't work for you, go for it when you can! Send in your totals either when you do an hour or at the end of the day--either way we want to see!

I wanted to congratulate all those who joined me yesterday in our first day sessions.  I am posting some kudos to Pintip for her awesome word count total at 4,253 yesterday (on top of a case of Jet Lag from coming back home from international travel).  And Kathy for her total of 2,125 words yesterday.  Great job ladies!

Don't forget though, this is not just about writing--this is about our overall well-being too.  Don't forget to post what you've accomplished for exercise and good healthy habit changes.  Your comments here will help others boost their confidence and share in the overall good will.

Hugs!

Let's Begin!--Day 1 of Healthy Writing.

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Are  you ready to go?  You've got your goals in sight and your attitude is positive, right?  Good!  Positive attitudes are what we need!  We can do this!

As of last week I was able to keep my pre-start goals.  (We won't discuss this weekend though--I think I enjoyed a cupcake or two from a party and a couple of adult beverages that may have dipped into my 49 point allowance Weight Watchers now gives me a week on their new points program.)  I didn't do my normal routine either.  But I'm back into the groove today.

I want to thank my friend Virginia Paige for joining me this morning on my walk at 6:00 a.m.  I look forward to tomorrow morning too!  I've had my cereal, two 12oz glasses of water and my vitamin so I'm ready to edit this morning and looking forward to doing the first of many writing/goal setting challenges today at noon (EST).

I will be on Twitter (@LoniLynne1) if you all want to join me--I will also post of Facebook (LoniLynne) and sending emails around that time.  If you want to join in we will try and do what a friend of mine refers to as 1K1H (1,000 words in 1Hour).  Post in either comments here or on Twitter/or Facebook what you've accomplished.

Anyone can post if they feel the need to start one whenever and we'll see who wants to jump on the band wagon.

My writing goal is to finish the first draft of my novel, "Save Me" by the end of August and finish re-writing my first novel, "Immortal Heat" by the end of September.  As far as personal goals, I'm looking on getting down 10 pounds or drop two pant sizes by mid September.  Baby steps.

Good luck and hope to hear from you all soon!

Only a Few More Days! -- Enjoy the Weekend!--See You on Monday!

Posting my final blog before we actively go into "Healthy Writing" mode on Monday.
I am excited about this endeavor and hope you are too.

If you haven't had a chance to set your personal goals for both the personal and the writing side of this plan, please do so over the weekend so you are fresh to go Monday.  This may be trial and error for many of us so if you find your goals are too much or not enough, re-adjust when and where you need to.  If you can't do a half an hour of exercise, try for ten minutes.  Same with the writing.  As I said previously we will try for a couple of hour sessions throughout the day (more if you prefer) but I will try for one during daytime hours and again for after working hours for those who also work a hectic day schedule.

I will ask for anyone who would like to take a lead to do so with comments--if you find you have questions or an answer to someones question--please respond.  I may not have the answer.  This is for all of us to enjoy and fellowship with others too.

I will post here, on Twitter, Facebook and on emails (however you prefer) when we are in writing mode for a timed writing event.  But if you aren't available at those moments--feel free to post when you are--others might be on-line at that point to and wish to join in.

I'm looking forward to learning from you all and sharing in successes throughout!  Enjoy the weekend!  See you Monday!

Planning a Start and Starting a Plan

So far I've gotten a start on how my goals are going to be set on August 8th.  This week is a trial and error for me--and as always, life somehow gets in the way.  Today it was running my daughter around and having one of her friends stop in for some help on a party she's planning for her boyfriend, right when I was settling in for setting some writing goals.

I have decided walking at 5:45a.m is the best time for me to get my exercising in.  I do roughly 2 miles in under half an hour so I feel pretty good getting that into my morning, first thing.   I am a morning person so scheduling exercise first thing is best--that way 'life's distractions' are still sleeping.  :)

My writing is going well.  I've finished two chapters in the past two days.  I managed to get in a total of just over 3,000 words yesterday, do some editing, and read a bit--and still have dinner on the table when my oldest daughter came home from work.

Here is what I have for a plan so far:
  • Waking up at 5:30 a.m. for 5:45 power walk. Make bed and pick up dirty clothes before heading out. (Back at 6:30a.m.) and first glass of water.
  • Breakfast, coffee and getting everyone up (due soon with youngest getting ready for Junior year of high school).
  • A quick brain game (I do crosswords, suduko, etc.) Cup of coffee #2.
  • Toss in a load of laundry and take shower.  Go over any paperwork, quick cleaning of kitchen, etc. (minor cleaning--helps keep major cleaning down to  a minimum).
  • Run errands (this is usually right around 9 a.m. so most places are open and it's first thing.)
  • By the time I return I grab a mid morning snack (apple and peanut butter are a favorite) and another glass of water--I love the new Mio flavor enhancers to add to a bottle or a glass of water. Check laundry.
  • I sit down and go over edits, blog, check emails, tweet, etc.
  • Now it is usually around noon.  I sit down and try to do a goal settting plan with a good friend of mine.  She's got me into a 1k1h (1,000 words in 1hour goal) challenge.
  • At 1:00 I stop for lunch, catch up with laundry and a bit more housework and another glass of water.
  • Around 2:00 I try for another 1k1h before I have to prepare for my DH to return (if he's not away on business), or I have a few more minutes to work on goals.
  • By 5:00p.m though--it's family time.  Dinner, conversation, quality time, television, etc.
If I can stick to this plan, knowing life will get in the way--I at least have a semi-plan to how I would like to see my day go.  I have to remember what a friend told me recently,  something about 'screw the Muse!  Sit myself in my chair and write!' We can't depend on inspiration to take hold, we need to be able to have the tools there to prod our Muse at times.  Not only that, if we are serious about writing then we need to treat it as a serious endeavor.  This is our career for many of us.  Just like any 8 hour a day job--we get up, get dressed, go to work and . . . work.  We owe it to ourselves to make this work.

God, Weight Watchers and Me--Count Down/ 7 Days

No one can do it alone--especially not me!  I need friends, family and that size 10 pair of jeans in my closet I once fit into, to motivate me.

So this morning I asked for a higher power to help me--that's right God and Weight Watchers.  I'm going to see how the on-line system helps me. (They had a special going this week only.)  With my crazy schedule (trying to find time to fit life, writing and staying healthy all into a day) every little bit helps.

This is my personal status and I'm not trying to promote any one plan for anyone out there.  Please, remember before you start any exercise/health changes to contact your doctor to see what is right for you.  The goals we are setting are not any one kind--this program is just set up to share in our own personal motivational routines of finding the balance between our goals as a writer and those of staying healthy for us and our loved ones.

Can you imagine how wonderful it will be to have the energy and endurance to finish that future RITA novel or NYT's Best Seller?   And when we walk across the stage to receive our awards--hey we will be that curvy woman in the red dress!  Ohhh yeah! :)

I'm still looking for ideas, recipes (especially quick and easy ones) and any information you would like to share that pertains to "Writing Healthy" for daily blogs.  Anyone who would like to post or possibly be interviewed (I've never had an interview on my blog!) please, let me know this week for upcoming blog days.  I will try to have a daily blog (so the more the merrier) but if not we will have at least three posts a week.

Good luck and remember--7 days from now we will actually begin. (But if you are already in the swing of things--great job!  Keep it up!)

Hugs and Healthy Writing!  :)

Writing Healthy

Oh, the agony of sitting here writing and knowing the inches are not coming off as my Butt is In Chair and my Hands are On Keyboard (B.I.C.H.O.K).  But what is a writer to do?  Do I work on my novel all day or do I work out?  And lord forbid, I have a real life too!  When do I fit it all into a 24-hour time period--only to start all over again the next day?

Many blog sites and writing friends I have talked to share the same concerns lately.  There are those who have great suggestions and solutions--I just need to combine both a time to write and a time to exercise so my bottom doesn't look like the worlds biggest pancake. (I have what my family refers to as a blanket butt and sitting on it doesn't make it any more attractive.)

After much brainstorming, I've come to the conclusion that I need to see what I can do about both situations.  With a few free weeks to work on my program, I figure it is the
best time to make those changes.  Some experts say it takes 21 days to put a new way of life into plan and make it stick--we shall see how diligent I can be with 26 days.

But I don't want to go it alone.  I love having friends to motivate me.  The more friends, the more motivation.  Do you agree?

I want to start a healthy writing schedule in which I incorporate good health practice (eatting, exercising, etc.) into my writing schedule, without sacrificing time at my keyboard.  Finding the balance is what is going to  help me.  I am in the beginning of my new novel and want to make time to write and work out.  My goal is to finish my novel (first draft) in the same time it will take me to lose some pounds and inches.

This next week I am putting together a plan to blog about a healthier writing life-style but I would love to hear ideas from others to share, as I impliment a  four week challenge starting August 8 and running through September 2.  I would like to start a challenge to make the difference in my lifestyle as a writer, and hopefully in those who wish to join me on this journey.

During the time frame of July 28-August 7, 2011, I plan to put together the basis for the program. If you would like to share your ideas, (motivational ideas, recipes for healthy eating, snacking, exercise programs or anything focused on healthy living/writing), please send them to me at: lonilynne@gmail.com and put "Writing Healthy Blog Ideas" in the subject line, so they can be implimented into the month long program. I am looking for daily, tips to share on-line and comments in this blog, so the more the merrier.

Along with the healthy tips, I'll be setting up daily timed writing events to challenge a writer to sit and write at least one or two hours a day ( or more depending  on schedules) between the hours of 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. (EST).  Of couse you can write more after those hours and time will be considered in the planning if I have responses from those in other time zones who would like to join in.

If you would like to participate in the actual challenge--the challenge will be from Monday, August 8 until Friday, September 2 (right before Labor Day weekend).Sign up by emailing me at: lonilynne@gmail.com with  "Writing Healthy Challenger" in the subject line.  Include your email address in the body of your email for me to contact you and welcome you on board.

Right now, I am using personal gain (word gain) and loss (pounds/inches) as my goals.  ( You may consider treating yourself to something special when you reach your goals. I am treating myself to professional pictures where I don't have to worry about how many extra pounds a camera puts on me).

So can you lose while you gain?  I'm sure going to try!  I would love to hear from you!

For Those Going To RWA National 2011

To all my writing sisters out there going to RWA Nationals—

• Be careful on your trip.

• Stay safe

• Have fun

• Learn lots

• Meet new friends (finally meet face to face with those you’ve only talked to via on-line loops, chats, etc.)

• Be inspired

• Be amazed

• Be safe (again)

• Be supportive

• Be loving

• Be kind to others

• Don’t sweat the small stuff

• Don’t forget 7 pairs of clean panties (read about forgetting underwear on trip—not good unless you are used to going without)

• Don’t walk out of the ladies room with t.p. stuck to the bottom of your shoe (or your dress caught in your pantyhose)

• When squeezing lemon into your water, cup both hands around your lemon wedge to keep the juice/ seeds from flying in a potential agent/editor’s eyes. (I saw it in a social film once—don’t ask.)

• Remember to warm the cognac in your hand—should be served at room temperature in a snifter . . . oh, wait a minute, those are notes from my recent research—never mind. (Use the information only if needed.)

• If hot, male romance cover model comes up to you and asks if you are his next cover partner . . . say “Heck yes!” and you need lots of practice with him before the photo shoot (just make sure hubby is not around—best if you are single)

• Be Safe (can’t say it enough)

• If asked how you come up with sex scenes for your novels just smile and give them a look of pure, thought-provoking enjoyment. (They’ll get the picture. No words needed.)

• Remember—before you can take over the world, you must first be able to make a really flaky pie crust. (A guy in my senior high school class wrote that in my yearbook. I didn’t understand at first—I thought he was crazy—but it makes sense. If you can make a really flaky pie crust, you probably can take over the world. Whoever came up with the phrase ‘simple as pie’ was an idiot!) Doesn’t have much to do with conference or writing but…thought I would share.

• Oh and finally . . . stay safe.

Hugs!

B.I.C.H.O.K-- Butt In Chair Hands on Keyboard

I have fallen and I can't sit down!  B.I.C.H.O.K means Butt In Chair, Hands On Keyboard to those of you who might not follow the term many of us writers refer to when life gets in the way of writing.  Yes, it's difficult to sit down and write when life is going on around us.  There are a hundred things we need to do, whether it is work a full-time job, tend to family, volunteer in our community, chat on-line, blog . . .

Okay, you get the point! Yes! I've become an on-line junkie!

Recently, trying to put myself out into the 'electronic' world to network among other writers and people in our industry has tied another small knot in my rope of time.  I've found my rope has more and more knots in the 24 hours of length as I add another task to my day. Finding time to sit and work on my novels is less and less.  A few months ago I was writing in my novel every chance I got and I need to find that energy again.

With the summer months though I have less desire to sit at a keyboard.  I need to move about. But what to do with my writing? Here is what I think I need to do:
  • Sit down early in the morning and pump out at least 1,000 words.
  • When I stop for a brief moment of coffee or that next glass of water (I've been trying for six glasses a day) try and get 500 words.  Even if I only get a chance to do so with 3 glasses of water it's still an extra 1500 words + the 1,000 already=2,500.  Not too shabby for a day.
  • Go over notes in my head (for characters, plot, G/M/C, etc.) when I'm power walking outside or on my treadmill.
Here are some other tips I might follow (since lately my time on-line has been added):
  • Limit my on-line time to a hour a day.(Facebook, Twitter, Blogs I follow, etc.)
  • Only check emails once a day. (Mid-day so any blogs I need to catch in my on-line time, I can.)
  • Blog on my sites twice a month (but check daily for any comments to respond to).
How did we get anything done before the Internet, cellphones and for that fact . . . computers?  Would love to hear any suggestions, comments or just stop in and say hello!

Hugs!

New Book to Write . . . So . . . Save Me

I'm really excited to be moving on with a new series of books--Angels With Attitude.  So far I have ideas for two books and through inspiration based on a video, the first one took on form many months ago.  Until yesterday though, I wasn't sure how to plot it or what the G/M/C (Goals/Motivation/Conflict) were for my hero/heroine.  With the help of my Muse and (my live muse--my oldest daughter) I was able to piece together a plot.

Check out my new page at the top of of site menu--SAVE ME and I'll keep you updated on new things happening as I go.

Critique Groups--Where Talent Abounds--On the "Write" Path

So you've decided to take that leap and write the romance you've always dreamed of writing. Your mother, sister-in-law, husband and best friend all think it's wonderful--that's great! But while having them read your story might help with the kinks, your fellow writing peers are the ones who know what editors are going to look for. As it is, Editor X may not even like what you have, just because they did. That is where getting involved with a critique group is so important for a writer . . . on the 'write' path.

Being involved with a wonderful critique group (mine meets once a month and enjoys each other's company) is a blessing when you are serious about your writing career. Critiquing is taking the good with the bad with a touch of diplomacy and a lot of encouragement from others in the same boat as you. Some people prefer not seeing who they are critiquing with at first and building the personal relationships along the way. The internet is wonderful for those writers, where others are comfortable making the leap of faith right off the bat and meeting face to face.

A part of having a great critique group is having someone to run/moderate your group with an eye for regulations, ideals and morals to make everyone comfortable. I am thankful for our 'group leader' who is excellent with handling those issues and supporting our group.

Since our start up, we've recently had two of our members' books contracted to be published. There are others in our group who are already published within the romance industry and share in both giving and receiving ideas, comments and encouragement to help others in a positive role and to continue in their endeavors. Even published authors have a need for a readers view--from grammatical errors to character and plot flow.

If you are starting out in your romance writing career or path, check with Romance Writers of America or your local Romance Writers of America chapter to see if they have a critique group. Find a group you feel comfortable with but not so comfortable that they won't give you constructive criticism now and again when needed.

A couple of things to remember before joining a critique group:

• If you get a critique, you need to give a critique too (even if you’re not sure how--read it from a readers point of view until you can understand and see things within each other’s context--grammar, POV, plot and character development, etc. Not everyone sees the same things in all submissions. That is why many eyes are better than one.).

• Remember the golden rule--treat others with the same respect you would want to be treated. Give your opinions gently, recommend changes with an open mind, but remember it is still 'their' work, their brain child.

• Be able to take criticism with an open eye towards others but remember not everyone is going to see the same thing. If you get various points made on one detail from quite a few people in your group--look at it as maybe something that needs a change. But if it's a random thought from one individual take it with a grain of salt--it may be just one persons opinion but you know where you are going with your story.

• Also, if someone is an expert in a certain area dealing with your book (I've been blessed with a partner who is a history major and was able to point out historical situations for me in one of my books) take to heart who may be reading your story, you need realism. Ask them questions to help guide you in the right way. They may even read over your finished story to check for inaccuracies. Just remember to thank them in the long run.

• Encourage, celebrate and communicate! We're all on the same path. Even those who have been there, done that, and have the contracts--it doesn't end with one book. Celebrate each other's big and small accomplishments in their journey--you could be the next winner of a contest or the next one signing a contract with an agent or editor and will want to share the news with everyone.

Tell me about your critique group(s), tips or any questions you may want to share with others. I would love to hear from you.

Another Great MRW Meeting Last Night!

Wow!  I can't tell you how great it is to be involved with Romance Writer's of America (RWA) and their local chapters.  You meet some of the greatest people with similar goals and dreams (speaking on my past comment yesterday), and the support and activities are always so informative.

Last night was a great example.  We were blessed with the talented and inspirational Rosemary Ellen Guiley who's one of the foremost experts on paranormal and the supernatural.  Her recent book on Djinn's, "The Vengeful Djinn--Unveiling the Hidden Agendas of Genies" in which she co-authored with Philip J. Imbrogno is a fount of information on the mystical creatures.

Now days with the continued rise of paranormal romance in our writing world,  it's always imparitive to have resources on some of the most unique creatures we write about to make our fictional worlds ring with a bit of authority and knowledge.  I can see her book being a great asset for those working with the elusive Djinn.  I wish to thank the people who make our meetings so informative and inspirational.  To everyone who have a hand in the MRW meetings--Kudos!  Keep up the Great work!

To those of you out there exploring your interest in romance writing--check out our local RWA chapters for the one closest to you.  Go to  http://www.rwa.org/  for more information.

All the best!

Woman's Day -- April 17th, 2011 Issue

I received my issue of Woman's Day last Friday in the mail and I happened to be thumbing through it after my work out, drinking a grape Propel when one of the articles caught my eye.  "It's Never Too Late".

On page 23 of the April 17th issue, there is a picture of a carefree woman, her head tilted back in laughter (even though the picture is in shades of gray, it's almost as if she's defeating the weather and laughing at anything getting in her way).  That woman is none other than Diana Cosby, international romance novelist, former Navy chief, and fellow Washington Romance Writer and RomVets member.

On page 24, the sub-title, "From Fantasies To Reality" hits home.  For years I've wanted to be a romance writer, one day hoping to see my novel on a book shelf in Barnes &Noble, or even in the aisle of Wal-Mart.  I read the article, finding Diana having the same dreams and goals many of us as romance writers do.  But the fact some of us didn't achieve our dreams until we were 40 or more years of age.

We are faced with so many decisions as women when we start out--who are we, what is our niche in life, do we accept a career or go with raising a family, or both?  But all this time we have a dream, our own individual goal in our life above and beyond.  It isn't until we've lived life (however young or old we are when it happens) that moves us towards those goals.  We now have experience to back up those dreams and the ability to look at them practically to pursue them.

So thank you Diana for the inspiration to know life begins at 40 for many of us--our dreams are still within reach.

Check out the whole article in the April 17th issue of Woman's Day or go to http://tiny.cc/byqha  to view the article on-line.

Write back and let me know your dreams and goals (no matter what age) and how you see yourself accomplishing them.

Hugs!

Woman's Day -- April 17th, 2011 Issue

I received my issue of Woman's Day last Friday in the mail and I happened to be thumbing through it after my work out, drinking a grape Propel when one of the articles caught my eye.  "It's Never Too Late".

Wanted: One Ghost--Page

I've been busy updating my site and added a page promoting my work in progress (WIP).  It's titled Wanted:One Ghost.  I included an excerpt from the first chapter and some pictures of the fictitious town of  Kings Mill, Maryland where the story takes place.

I will be adding more bits and pieces to my site as I go along so, in the immortal words of Mae West-- "Why don't you stop in and see me sometime."

Comments are always welcomed too.
